Le Palais Beaumont has been run as a Société Publique Locale (SPL Palais Beaumont – Parc des Expositions; meaning it is publicly-funded) since July 2011 ; the Parc des Expositions has joined the SPL the 1 January 2017.
A Société Publique Locale (SPL Palais Beaumont – Parc des Expositions) is a legal structure that works exactly the same way as a Société Anonyme. SPLs are part of the family of Entreprises Publiques Locales (EPL). Operationally, the Palais Beaumont is run under a public service contract between the city of Pau and the SPL Palais Beaumont – Parc des Expositions.
Shareholding is fully public, with the status of a Société Anonyme (public limited company) and a registered capital of €600,000, and is divided as follows:
-66.66% City of Pau;
-33.33% Agglomeration Community of Pau-Pyrénées.
Six administrators (four for the city and two for the Agglomeration Community of Pau-Pyrénées) sit on the Board of Directors, which meets at least once every two months. The positions of Chairman and General manager are separate. The structure counts 35 employees.
